A few minutes walk from the villa is Luz, a nice village with a clean and safe beach which has a blue flag.

From the beach there is sailing and water sports. The village has plenty of bars and restaurants to eat

and relax in.

 

Close to Luz there is the Bova Vista golf course. Within 20 minutes from the villa there are other

courses include Palmares, to the East of Largos and Parque da Floresta to the West, There are 29

golf courses on the Algarve!

 

There are plenty of facilities in the village. Supermarkets include 'Baptista' and a Spar. Baptista is the best

and caterers for a wide variety of taste. There are also doctors and a dentist in the village, if you should

need them. There are a few banks and also cash machines.

 

There are plenty of restaurants and several beach bars. Recommended is the Fortaleza in the old fort.

Lagos is only 10 minutes away by car. It is considered one of the best cities in the western Algarve. It has

a mariner from which you can go dolphin watching, scuba diving and visit the local caves by boat. Within

easy distance of Lagos there is Zoomariner were you can swim with dolphins. Also to the east of Largos

there is a water-slide park. Just outside Lagos there is a local zoo. Microlight flying from Lagos airport is

also possible.

There are many markets in the area. Lagos has one on the first Saturday of each month. On each Saturday

you can purchase local produce at the market near the swimming pool in Lagos.

A visits to Silves, which has a fine castle is recommended. Sargres and Cape St Vincente should be

included on your list.

Monchique, the highest point in Southwest Europe must be visited as the view is fantastic.

Recently opened is the new motor racing (F1) track only about 20 or 30 minutes away. There is also a

go-cart track which is open to the public.
